SOILの皆様おめでとう
2005年12月15日 SOIL & "PIMP" SESSIONS昨日はSOIL & "PIMP" SESSIONS のファンの間では、BBCの受賞(The John Peel ’Play More Jazz’ award)のニュースが飛び交ってましたね。
この賞の位置づけがよく解らないので、ネットで調べてみたんだけど、今ひとつわからずじまい。
功績のあったDJの名前にちなんで付けられた名前の様ですが。
この賞の一覧とそれに対するコメントをBBCのBBSからコピーです。（ショーに行ってた人のコメントかな。）
Track of the year: Amerie "One Thing" (A lot of people were not expecting this， but it’s kind of deserved In my humble opinion， especially if you take the song’s popularity into consideration. It was big in the UK this year， and one would expect this to be reflected in a show of WW’s calibre. Congrats to Amerie).
Club night of the year: The Unabombers (a thoroughly deserved award! they have been making a name for themselves as a soundsystem for a few year now; and it’s good to see them get the recognition they deserve. They always blow-up a SPOT! Respect!).
The John Peel ’Play More Jazz’ award: Soil & Pimp (They have been in the ’news’ ALL year with their brand of righteous brand of ’death jazz’. Simply mindblowing! It was good to see them in action last night).
Lifetime achievement award: The Mizell Bros (This was my fave award of the night. These guys are total legends. Good to see them collect their award in person).
Comp of the year: Tru Thoughts (I have no complaints with this one， even if i was expecting Soul Jazz to win it - HAHA!).
WW session of the year: Roots Manuva (This to be honest was another surprise (for me anyway); not that i have anything against Roots Manuva - Big artist! I loved his acceptance speech - hilarious!).
ともあれ、ずっと定点観察してきた身からすると、「やったね〜〜！」という思いもヒトシオでございます。
